Fear-No-More: Tiny but Mighty Kitten Mala

This is part of a collection of animal malas. Animals are naturally contemplative and if we relate to them correctly we can learn to be contemplative ourselves.

This mala series is inspired by Fear No More Zoo, where humanity is sensitive to and respectful of the sacred nature of all life. Fear-No-More Zoo is a unique environment where everyone can learn about our sacred connection to the natural world. Non-human residents at these sanctuaries include a herd of Bactrian camels, horses, llamas, and more. These non-humans live in a conscious, sacred circumstance where they are free to live their lives in safety and love.

Adi Da Samraj speaks about Fear-No-More Zoo: Living things are there being without fear, human beings without fear, all beings without fear. Fear-No-More is a Sacred Place. It awakens compassion for all living beings.

Adi Da Samraj speaks about non-humans:The non-humans are, by their very nature, innately extended in the Field of Transcendental Contemplation. Fundamentally, as an innate characteristic, they Stand Prior to mind. In that sense, the non-humans are (to some degree) already Free.

About this mala:

This mala is made with glossy black obsidian beads, silver spacer beads, and a translucent pink cat pendant as the guru bead.

Obsidian is volcanic glass that forms when lava cools quickly, giving it a smooth, glassy, lustrous surface. It is considered a strong protective stone, believed to shield against negative energy, and is connected to the root chakra (Muladhara), helping anchor and stabilize the mind during meditation.

These qualities mirror the spirit of the cat in a remarkable way. Cats have been revered across many cultures as natural protectors. Obsidian's deep grounding energy reflects the cat's innate gift for stillness and presence — that alert, rooted awareness a cat embodies whether resting or watching the world with quiet intensity. And like the kitten itself, obsidian carries volcanic power in a sleek and elegant form: fierce energy compressed into something smooth, graceful, and beautiful. Even obsidian's hidden sharpness — one of the keenest edges found in nature — echoes the cat's soft exterior concealing swift, razor-sharp instincts. Tiny but mighty, indeed.
