Baldwin Beach Wabi Sabi

This tells the story of a mindful walk along Baldwin Beach, where a dried Royal Poinciana seed pod was discovered and transformed into a simple piece of natural art. This seed pod, with its sculptural curves, serves as the rustic centerpiece for this spontaneous arrangement, paired with smooth natural wood beads and a delicate flower from the garden.

The broken half-pod evokes the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi—finding beauty in imperfection and embracing impermanence in the natural cycle of growth and decay. It evokes the authentic, unpolished aspects of existence that reveal the passage of time and the beautiful cycles of nature.

This simple, natural piece encourages us to slow down, notice nature's gifts, and be present in our everyday journey.
