Animals are naturally contemplative, and when we relate to them with openness and respect, they can help us learn to be contemplative ourselves.
This collection is inspired by Fear-No-More Zoo, a sanctuary where animals live in peace, freedom, and contemplation. They are simply allowed to be, and that is precisely what makes them such powerful teachers.
The egoless nature of reality, the very truth that spiritual practice invites us to realize, is already naturally apparent to non-humans. Animals do not struggle with the sense of separation, contraction, and striving that so often weighs on the human mind. Living fully in each moment, they show us what that looks like when we pause long enough to watch them quietly.
These malas are made to carry that teaching with you.
~ About this mala:
This mala is made with multi-colored agate beads, pearl beads and a white magnesite hose pendant.
The agate beads move through a natural earth palette — green, moss, sage, chestnut, terracotta, and deep brown — no two beads holding quite the same shade. Set among this palette are creamy white pearl beads.
The guru bead is a white magnesite horse. Horses are watchful animals, alert to everything around them, and yet they rest in that alertness rather than being contracted by it. They do not carry the noise of self-consciousness that most people carry — they are simply, fully present, moving through the world without a story about themselves in it. What they carry instead is a kind of divine secret: the plain, unearned knowledge of their own pure consciousness in the moment.
